FMB Film Festival Goes International April 24-28

A beloved island tradition is discovering this year that by incorporating just one more word into its title, it literally makes a whole world of difference! For its 13^th edition, the Fort Myers Beach Film Festival is adding “International” to its moniker, to become the FMB International Film Festival, from Wednesday, April 24 through Sunday, April 28! The Fort Myers Beach Friends of the Arts sponsors the annual Film Fest. “We screened some of the best in local, regional, national and now international films, to bring the most captivating to our 2019 Festival,” said Executive Director Janeen Paulauskis. “To broaden our reach, this year we feature films from Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Italy, Ireland and Serbia. The FMB Film Festival continues with an 11am workshop, “Filmmaker Talk Fest with Kyle Thompson of Red Flight Pictures, plus a full day of film screenings, including feature films (Luke & Jo), international short films, short film packages, “Blind Vision” and documentaries (Karen Black on Acting & Viewer Discretion Advised). REELING FOR AUTISM
7:30am - 6pm, Nervous Nellie’s. The Reeling for Autism Fishing Tournament and Silent Auction is sponsored by Family Initiative, Inc, a SWFL nonprofit dedicated to supporting children and families dealing with autism. This family-friendly event will feature live music and raffles 11am – 6pm; a silent auction 11am-4pm and an opportunity for families of children with autism to connect with each other. The Fishing Tournament will run from 7:30am– 3:30pm and the 1st Place winner will receive $1,500; 2nd Place $1,000 and 3rd Place $500.
