Looking for a DOG BEACH in SW Florida? We have your answer. 

Most beaches in Lee County, if they allow dogs, require them to be leashed. One does not. Lee County’s Dog Beach allows dogs to run free in a beautiful beach setting. Used for many years by savvy residents and visitors and their dogs, this park became official in 2001. The park has no restrooms or running water, but does have portable toilets and doggie shower stations so dogs can be rinsed off before leaving the park. Parking is free and adjacent to a busy road, so owners will want to keep their dog leashed until they reach the beach area. Mayor Calls for Close Look at Bay Oaks, Mound House and Mooring Field

The upcoming budget was the main topic of conversation on Monday morning at Town Council’s first workshop following the July break. Interim Town Manager Jim Steele outlined options for the budget based on both a .8 and .9 mil rate, and proposed ways to keep the budget balanced in the future. Council then discussed everything from the storm water utility to Bay Oaks. Steele began by explaining that the Audit Committee is currently working on policies regarding the Town’s budget – including things like ensuring only Council is authorized to transfer funds or do temporary loans, that an adequate funds balance is always maintained and that revenues and expenditures are reviewed on a regular basis. What's going on with ESTERO BLVD?

Those of you who haven’t been to our island in a few months are no doubt wondering what’s going on. Confronted with a maze of Bob’s Barricades upon coming over the bridge, visitors to our island this month will understandably have questions. The most important answer is, yes, we are open for business and what’s happening is a long-needed water and road improvement project that will eventually benefit everyone. And as with any improvements that involve a heavily-traveled roadway like Estero Boulevard, there will be some delays but local businesses and the Town of Fort Myers Beach are working hard to ensure those delays are minimal and our guests’ stay on the island remains a pleasant one.
