Council Workshop Discusses Budget, Craft Beer Festival
 
At their workshop on Monday morning, the Town Council looked at a preliminary budget for the coming year and discussed the possibility of having a Craft Beer Festival at Bay Oaks to generate income for their teen and youth programs.  As Council ran through the list of all the budget items, Mandel questioned a $20,000 increase in the Town’s contract with Central Parking and voiced a concern about the Town’s legal expenses. Town Officials To Decide On Lightning Detection


Less than one month after a lightning storm fatality occurred along the beachfront on Estero Island, a Town of Fort Myers Beach advisory board continued ongoing discussions about the viability of a lightning warning system to protect residents and visitors from future incidents.  The Town Public Safety Committee is assembling information to be used as a presentation during a proposed Sept. 15 joint workshop with the FMB Town Council.
