HISTORIC COTTAGE

Island museum located at 161 Bay Rd, at the entrance to
Matanzas Pass Preserve, houses a collection of artifacts,
photos and memorabilia of life on Estero Island. Open

MOUND HOUSE
Estero Island's oldest standing structure sits on a 2,000
year old Calusa Indian Mound. Hours are TU, WE
and SA from 10am-2pm. Last tour leaves at 1:30pm. 239-765-0865

TALL SHIP LYNX
Climb aboard and relive history from 1812 aboard this replica privateer. Join the crew and hoist the sails, steer the ship and fire the cannons. Docked behind Nervous Nellie’s. Dockside tours and sailaways through April 20th. 1-866-446-5969

Fort Myers Beach Edition

Changes coming to Fort Myers Beach Town Hall

The face of Town Council is about to change. Despite a rather anemic turnout of just 1,386 voters or 26.99% of registered voters, last Tuesday's election made history for the 18-year-old Town of Fort Myers Beach as voters elected three women - Anita Cereceda, Rexann Hosafros and Summer Stockton – to seats on the dais. Prior to this week, only three women - Terry Cain, Cereceda and outgoing Councilwoman Jo List - have served on council since incorporation in 1995. GEOCACHING 101
10am, Lovers Key. Join a park ranger to learn the basics of Geocaching.

treasures Mother Nature has in store for you at any Florida

Local Events for March 2014

Mardi Gras Comes to the Beach

March is not only the month for the Shrimp Festival and St. Patrick's Day, it's also the month for Mardi Gras and even though Fort Myers Beach is more than 500 miles from the Big Easy, the folks over at the Cottage are planning another shindig worthy of Bourbon Street. On Tuesday, March 4th, the good times will be rolling all day, so get out your purple and gold beads, folks, and get ready to party! Mardi Gras, which is French for Fat Tuesday, is the last day of the season of Carnival. Carnival begins after Twelfth Night, January 6th, and ends on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. an exact replica of the 16th century ship that first circumnavigated
the globe will be docked at Snug Harbor Marina behind Nervous
