Breaking Ground on the Town’s Waterline Replacement Project
On Monday afternoon, Town Council, Town staff, Lee County Commission Chairman Larry Kiker, members of Johnson Engineering and Mitchell & Stark and former Mayors Dan Hughes, Ray Murphy, Dennis Boback and Bob Raymond 'officially' broke ground on the Town's Waterline Replacement Project - called "reFRESH Fort Myers Beach”. Though the photo here shows the group behind Town Hall, the project is actually beginning on Mango Street, with Tropical Shores Way, Fairweather, Del Mar and Pearl Streets to follow shortly thereafter. Construction on the remainder of the Basin-Based Neighborhood - Chapel, Ohio, Miramar, Ostego Drive and the Gulf side of all of the above streets - is expected to begin in May of 2014.
